Teens + Hormones = STINKY!
My soon-to-be teen, Isaiah, will be celebrating his 13th birthday this Spring. As an early gift to me, his hormones went into overdrive. The last class of his day is weight lifting and/or the sport that is in season (baseball or football). Since he comes straight home, he doesn’t shower or change clothes. If you haven’t experienced this yet, I’ll use one expression to put it in perspective – EWWWWWWW! Baseball season is just around the corner so I’ll have to deal with a stinky uniform for several months. Thank goodness I have a new trick up my sleeve for it!
This is Isaiah. Please excuse the hair as he piddled around and we ended up not getting to the hairdresser in time for a cut before school picture day. It’s highly unusual to see him without a hat, too. He slips one on his head as he climbs out of bed and pulls it off climbing in at night. Even after showering, he will exit the bathroom with a hat on his clean head. But hey, he’s a country boy. There’s no gettin’ that out of him!
Baseball + Jockstrap = Disgusting Laundry
We live in the South and in addition to the red brick that baseball fields are frequently covered with, we play in red dirt/clay. White pants are beautiful with uniforms – until you actually play in them. On a side note, if you end up with white pants for your child, as soon as the game is finished, take them to the car wash. Hook the pants onto the car mat holders and spray the daylights out of them. Watch this video (I didn’t make it!). I also brought them home and bleached them to get an even brighter white.
They’re Clean!….But they still stink!
Yes, they do….and it’s downright HORRIBLE! Until I discovered Febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator, I didn’t think we’d ever get that “stinky boy” smell out of a uniform ever again. Seriously, y’all – it really works! This powerful formula works in mysterious ways to remove odors from perspiration, cooking oil, grease, motor oil, pets, garden soil and mildew. Hormones are one of the many smells that laundry detergent alone can’t always remove.
There is no special secret to how to use the Febreze In-Wash Odor Eliminator. Measure it out, based on a light, heavy, or extreme odor situation, and pour into your wash cycle along with your favorite detergent. It doesn’t interfere with your current laundry products nor will it cause any discoloration or shrinkage of your clothing. It’s HE washer safe and can be used in water of any temperature.
